Preventative and Restorative Care
Dentures
Dentures (or false teeth) are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Dentures can be inserted to replace missing teeth to help you chew food, support your lips and cheeks, and pronounce certain sounds.
Crowns
Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain, placed on the top of a tooth. Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth.
Sealants
The pits and grooves of your teeth are prime areas for opportunistic decay, and are sometimes missed even with regular brushing. Sealants are liquid coatings that fill these grooves and hardens on the chewing surfaces of teeth to preventing cavities even on teeth where decay has begun. They act as protective barriers to prevent further leaks, decay, or damage to your teeth.
Root Canal Therapies
Root canals are tiny passageways that branch off from beneath the top of the tooth, coursing their way vertically downward, until they reach the tip of the root. Root canal treatments can save an infected tooth by removing damaged pulp from the roots of your teeth and sealing it to protect against further damage. Root canals are protected with a crown.
Mini Implant Dentures
Mini-implant dentures involve the placement of small titanium posts directly into the jawbone, ensuring a stable foundation for the dentures in patients with limited bone. They offer improved functionality and aesthetics while preventing bone loss and facial changes over time. The procedure is minimally invasive, has reduced healing time, and is cost-effective compared to traditional implant dentures.
Extractions
A tooth extraction removes a damaged tooth from its socket to relieve pain and prevent further damage from severe decay and gum disease.
Scaling and Root Planing
Some cases of acute periodontal (gum) disease that do not respond to more conventional treatment and self-care such as flossing may require a special kind of cleaning called scaling and root planing. Scaling and root planing cleans teeth by removing plaque from its surface and below the gum line. Scaling removes tartar, and root planing smoothens root surfaces so that gums can reattach.
Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
Implants
Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root. Implants are anchored to the jawbone or metal framework on the bone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. In some cases, implants can be used to attach dentures.
Bridges
Bridges are fixed, non-removable false teeth that are anchored to adjacent teeth. Bridges replace one or more missing teeth to restore chewing function, aesthetics, and to maintain bite shape.
